Youth Peer Education Network (Y-PEER Somalia) is a groundbreaking and comprehensive youth to youth initiative; the network was established in September 2009 by peer educators in Garowe, Somalia., it is a civil society, non-profit making  and  non-political organization and  also  an active  member of  Global Youth  Peer Education  Network.  Y-PEER Somalia intends to  promote a healthy  life style and  to  empower young  people to  make  responsible  decisions.

Y-PEER Somalia is dedicated to the protection and socio-economic empowerment of women and young men and women, with a multifaceted approach that includes addressing traditional harmful practices such as FGM, Child Marriage, GBV and promoting gender equality, and advancing sexual reproductive health among adolescent and youth. Additionally, Y-PEER SOMALIA also focuses on promoting vaccinations to ensure community health and well-being. Y-PEER Somalia’s Head Quarters is Garowe, Puntland, Somalia and it operates all states of Somalia and the Banadir Regional Administration.

The Somali Youth Employment Project, implemented by Y-PEER Somalia, is seeking applications from employment agencies in Somalia. The project aims to provide employability soft skills training, mentorship, and job placement opportunities to youth graduates from universities and vocational training centers across Somalia.

Objective:

The primary objective of the Somali Youth Employment Project is to enhance the employability of Somali youth by equipping them with essential soft skills, providing mentorship, and facilitating their integration into the workforce.

Scope of Work:

Selected employment agencies will be responsible for:

  1. Conducting employability soft skills training sessions covering topics such as communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, and professionalism.
  2. Providing mentorship to youth participants to support their personal and professional development.
  3. Facilitating job placement opportunities by connecting trained youth graduates with potential employers in various sectors.
  4. Monitoring and evaluating the progress of participants throughout the project duration.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Registered employment agencies based in Somalia with a proven track record of delivering youth employment programs.
  2. Demonstrated experience in providing soft skills training, mentorship, and job placement services.
  3. Willing to conduct the project activities in any of the main cities of Somalia
  4. Capacity to engage with both university graduates and vocational training center graduates.
  5. Strong networks with employers across different sectors in Somalia.
  6. Commitment to gender equality and inclusion in all aspects of program implementation.
